Our Commitment to Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. In collecting crowdsourced disavow file data, we take special measures when storing and sharing data to ensure your privacy and anonymity. This notice explains our online information practices and the choices you can make about how your information is collected, stored and used. To make this notice easy to find, we make it available on our home page and at every point where personally identifiable information may be requested.

By using DisavowFiles.com, you are accepting the practices described throughout this Privacy Statement.

The Information We Collect

This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on the DisavowFiles.com website and subdomains. On some pages, you can use online forms to order products, make requests, and register to receive materials. The types of personal information collected at these pages may include:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Credit/debit card information (only if you are subscribing/purchasing online)
  • Additional information appropriate to projects being managed or serviced by DisavowFiles.com

Additionally, the DisavowFiles.com service collects participant-provided disavow files, .txt documents submitted to search engines to indicate a disavowal of inbound links from domains and individual URLs. The data collected in this process includes:

  • Participant domain
  • Domains and URLs that the participant domain disavows

The source of disavow file documents is separated from the data as it is stored in the database.

The Way We Use Information

We use the information you provide about yourself when registering, making a request, or placing an order only to complete that request. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete that order. We use your email address to respond to your email inquiries, and to provide project and service news, notifications and updates. Email addresses are never shared with outside parties. We use non-identifying and aggregate information to improve our website design and provided services.

We also share provided disavow file data with other users. Due to the crowdsourced nature of the DisavowFiles.com service, we share non-identifying and aggregate information with other users. We will not disclose any personally identifiable information that could be used to identify individuals or websites participating in the crowdsourced cooperative.

Finally, we never use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to those described above.

Our Commitment to Data Security

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

What Information Can I Access, Correct or Remove?

To update your Google disavow file, uploading the new disavow file to the application overwrites your previous disavow file data.

DisavowFiles.com users can access their own personally identifiable information collected during the DisavowFiles.com registration process by logging into the site and visiting the update page appropriate to that information. Note: DisavowFiles.com login is mandatory. We use this procedure to better safeguard your information.

You can also correct factual errors in your personally identifiable information by sending us a request that credibly shows error. To protect your privacy and security, we will always take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections.

The application is meant to be used in a crowdsourced fashion. If you do not upload a disavow file for your website, you will not have access to disavow file data within the application. While you may delete your account at any time, the disavow file provided by you as a participant remains in the crowdsourced database.
